The Impact of AI on Scaling

Show notes

Gareth Cadwallader and Reelflow co-founder Chris Wickson dig into how AI is reshaping what "scaling up" even means. Chris makes the case that meaningful, scaled businesses can now be built by teams of 5–20 people — even one person orchestrating agentic workflows — using direct before-and-after comparisons from his own companies, Akkroo and Reelflow. They discuss the widening gap between people with strong AI-orchestration skills and equally experienced people without them, why leaving teams to explore AI tools on their own is no longer enough, and Chris's prediction that AI capability is fast becoming a baseline requirement for employment, not a nice-to-have. A candid look at where scaling is headed.

00:01:42: all you do think, yeah one person orchestrating a bunch of egentic workflows.

00:01:51: Yeah can't do the work and then we've already got people.

00:02:30: Yeah

00:02:31: fast put in us or fast think thought thought of us.

00:02:37: And These orchestration skills these are emerging as Well, in some cases beyond mental.

00:02:47: Yeah

00:02:50: And The difference in what somebody can achieve With those two things compared to a very competent experienced person without those two days is getting wider and wider isn't it?

00:03:05: I think the

00:03:05: big challenge everybody's facing there be enablement of teens.

00:03:11: I was on a founder

00:03:29: some might but most people will probably just use these tools as a service level whereas after you go down find unique some people like you does in a suit can really enable them and that's possible.

00:03:42: this willingness to embrace AI capabilities and turn them, you know.

00:03:50: Turn up the dial a hundred times until it's what can be done is moving from nice-to-do in a bit of spare time... To if we can't do it?

00:04:00: You just can't look at how easy run that quite quick transition definitely gonna be real short yeah.
