Welcome To The Founders Way
Show notes
Hello, I'm Gareth Cadwallader, I'm the host and creator of The Founders' Way. My vision for The Founders' Way is that it will become an invaluable companion and guide for founders of startups and founding teams.
On The Founders' Way, my aim is to boil all that experience down into the things that I found most valuable, things that I've used every week, some every day, still some using every day, and boil it down in a way that I hope will be really valuable
I'm really pleased that many of the comrades that have worked with me over these campaigns, including some of the people who have inspired me the most, are going to join me on The Founders' Way, and between us, we're going to try and inspire you and provide you with a valuable toolkit to help you make the most of your business and your personal growth.

00:00:00: Hello, I'm Gareth Cadwalador.
00:00:12: I am the host and creator of The Founders Way.
00:00:16: My vision for The Founder's way is that it will become an invaluable companion And guide For founders.
00:00:24: have startups and founding teams?
00:00:28: i think everything in business Is ultimately situational...the first answer to any question is It depends.
00:00:36: So what I'm looking to do on the founder's way is provide founders with frameworks, tools tips and tricks And shared experience that will support and challenge them as they travel along their startup journey.
00:00:54: I spent the first twenty years of my career in big tech firms Hewlett Packard Cable Wireless Digital Compact Computer Center and in two thousand.
00:01:06: I made the job to join a startup called esoft global became vice-tawn.
00:01:12: i think was that last person in britain who joined the dot com bubble before it burst.
00:01:22: but since then,i've spent twenty six years on counting working very heavily involved about a dozen startups.
00:01:33: The only way in which I bring a unique perspective to the Founders' Way is that, over the last twenty-six years... ...I've participated in a wide variety of functions and roles.
00:02:00: sometimes acted as a project manager or an interim manager, and often has very hands-on executive chair working with the founder.
00:02:12: So I have alot of different experiences off start up journey found six exits in that time some pretty good had a couple disappointments frankly.
00:02:26: so i have wide range experience to share which im looking forward.
00:02:32: On the founder's way, my aim is to boil all that experience down into things I found most valuable.
00:02:40: Things i've used every week so still some using everyday and what boils down in a way which would be really useful for the current generation of founders as you can probably tell already startup journey in the beginning.
00:03:02: And so from, you know my point of view it's time to share what I've learned.
00:03:09: one thing i've learned is that The founding start-up scaling it up being a member of a founding team It's one of THE most challenging and One Of THE most rewarding Experiences that any of us have?
00:03:23: Uh...it's something very few people go back From having had the taste.
00:03:28: So uh..the founders way I hope will both help you grow your business and also, grow personally.
00:03:36: And those are the kind of dual aims I think for any founder.
00:04:01: toolkit to help you make the most of your business and your personal growth.
00:04:07: You know, it's paradoxical that in one way founders spend like twenty four hours a day thinking about their business And most of us obsessive about our business once we started up... ...and yet on the other side of coin We have very little time available for some structured focused hard-thinking About the problems we face and The decisions we need take.
00:04:32: My experience of being on founding teams and being a co-founder business is this.
00:04:36: But the vast majority of progress, it's about overcoming setbacks.
00:04:42: I've had a thousand setbacks And i'm going to share some those with you too.
00:04:47: So On The Founders Way we have...I had thread called Thought Along The Way where as ive walked with Gus & Pippin This Is Pippen I'm gonna share one idea at time One thing that has been really valuable for me Over the years.
00:05:01: As Phil is today On Reflections, I'm going to sit down with co-founders and members of founding teams.
00:05:08: I've worked over the years on Reflect.
00:05:10: what have we learned?
00:05:10: What are most important things that you've learnt?
00:05:12: The most valuable thing is that we can share it with you.
00:05:17: And thinking in real time... ...I am other members of the founding team of Real Flow Limited which is my current startup journey.
00:05:29: We're just gonna sort off Do a bit of alive journal on the issues we're thinking about and The decisions strategic and tacticals, the decisions that were facing And I hope they will be really interesting for you as well.
00:05:43: Later in few months time i'll Be introducing more formal structured sort curriculum Called the master founder Academy.
00:05:53: So...I Hope You join me On this journey and That you allow Me to Join you on your Journey and that we walk together along the Founder's Way.
00:06:05: I wish you good luck in everything you do!
